3. Klick Labs sensor records and transmits Parkinson’s tremors
The SymPulse Tele-Empathy Device developed by Klick Labs is a wearable device that wirelessly records and transmits Parkinson’s patient tremors in real time to assist with empathy and better care.
The device records continuous electromyogram data from the patient wearing it and wirelessly transmits that data through Bluetooth to a custom-engineered electrical muscle stimulation armband for non-patients. Those wearing the armband are able to feel what the patient’s tremors feel like, according to a press release.
The device even induces involuntary muscle activity that replicates tremors in real-time. It allows for physicians and family members to be able to experience what it is like for someone to have Parkinson’s disease.
