Cogmedix, a leading medical device engineering and manufacturing services provider and subsidiary of Coghlin Cos, says its revenue grew 60% last year.
An addition of several new medical device innovation clients and growth of its customer base helped. Both led to an increase in production of optical and laser-based medical devices.
“During 2016 we added several new OEM programs to our portfolio and enhanced our team of Caring Associates with many talented new hires,” said Matt Giza, executive vice president and general manager of Cogmedix.
The company also recently expanded medical device manufacturing space at its Worcester, Mass. facility. The expansion is expected to accommodate several new medical device OEM manufacturing opportunities in the medical imaging, robotics and surgical markets while creating an engineering lab for the ongoing Cogmedix medical product design initiative.
Coghlin Cos. updated its electronic business systems for Columbia Tech and Cogmedix in 2016.
“The systems include an upgraded ERP system, a new electronic PLM system and an MES system. These systems will provide additional enhancements to our materials management, shop floor control, serialization, traceability, and device history management. The new PLM system offers several advantages to our growing medical device design initiative, now led by Cogmedix vice president of engineering Paul Dunleavy,” Giza said.
