Health IT company Cerner announced in late 2014 that it won federal approval to move forward with its proposed, $1.3 billion acquisition of Siemens Healthcare’s information technology business in an all-cash deal. Cerner also won a sale from Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives for its ITWorks platform and services to provide continuity of care across 47 hospitals and multiple clinical settings. Cerner will assume operational and administrative responsibilities for CHI's IT at its facilities, spanning several states using Cerner Millennium electronic health records.
