CompanionMX: Using voice analysis to track mental health

CompanionMX’s system allows clinicians to use artificial intelligence-enabled voice analysis to track patients’ mental health. Patients speak into their smartphones so that the Companion system can conduct voice analysis. Companion’s proprietary analysis of voice features — as well as smartphone metadata — produce key mental health metrics. The company claims the system has been able to predict mental health episodes two weeks in advance. Clinicians are able to triage care and proactively intervene to improve outcomes.
The Companion system is reimbursable through existing CPT codes, and the company says it can integrate the system into health providers’ digital experience.
CompanionMX is a spinoff of Cogito, which has AI-powered voice analysis technology to enhance customer service.
