Product description and innovation synopsis:
Sony’s Content Management System enables secure centralized, network-based searching, editing, storage, and distribution of 4K and HD video from recording devices, including medical 4K recorders. It can save and arrange videos captured in multiple operating rooms and enables patient data and information to be stored and managed together with video data. Its simple interface is designed for intuitive video searches, and easy navigation and playback of desired segments. Video can be cut, spliced, and processed using a computer. Network-connected computers and tablets can easily access the video data stored on the system’s server, so video can be shared throughout a facility.
What sets this product apart from others available in the industry?
Fully scalable, out of the box ready, and affordably priced, Sony’s CMS provides an efficient, economical and secure way for medical professionals to share visual content, such as surgical video or stills for education, training, research, and consultation. Such large digital assets would tax most hospital networks’ bandwidth and technical capabilities, but CMS uses a smaller footprint proxy file of the surgical footage for viewing and editing, which keeps the image quality intact without overloading the hospital’s network. Images can be saved to Sony’s CMS for archiving, editing, organizing, and sharing, with access from any location for anyone you choose.
How does this product benefit the surgical team and aid in better outcomes?
Technology like CMS aids in better outcomes by providing more insight and information to doctors and students. The ability to efficiently and securely archive, access, and share important surgical video and stills throughout the hospital network or via the internet for reference, repurposing, training, and education helps doctors be more prepared and better educated, which results in better outcomes. CMS also offers the ability to stream surgery live, enabling a near real-time view into the OR for staff and residents. In addition to benefitting patients, streamlining operations with CMS securely saves institutions time, money, and resources.
