December 5, 2017 By Daniel Seeger

In the November/December 2017 issue of Surgical Products, the winners of this year’s Excellence In Surgical Products (ESP) Awards are revealed.

Day by day, we’ll also share the results here, including some additional details about the honored products.

Category: INSTRUMENTATION

Runner-Up: PHILIPS AZURION

Philips Azurion is the new-generation image guided therapy platform that allows healthcare professional to easily and confidently perform procedures with a unique user experience, helping to optimize hybrid OR performance and provide superior care. Azurion unites clinical excellence with workflow innovation. It is designed to help physicians perform procedures more consistently and efficiently. With the new future proof platform, practitioners can deliver outstanding care and grow their service line over time.

Azurion is powered by ConnectOS, Philips’ newly developed operating system to optimize system integration which features an easy-to-use intuitive user interface combined with real-time information on multiple work spots within the interventional lab.

In its simplified set-up and operation, the Azurion 7 uses a range of Procedure Cards to help optimize and standardize system set-up for all cases, from routine to advanced procedures. The system automatically selects the appropriate Procedure Cards based on the RIS/HIS/CIS code of the scheduled procedure.

It also offers full control at table side through FlexVision Pro. Not only does this improve workflow within the exam room, it helps reduce the need for team members to leave the sterile area and walk to the control room during procedures. This can save time and help avoid delays.

Philips’ Azurion image-guided therapy platform for hybrid OR’s is the result of a multi-year development program conducted in close collaboration with leading clinicians in the field. This next generation platform features a state-of-the-art ergonomic design with an easy-to-use intuitive user interface, enabling clinicians to swiftly and confidently perform a wide range of routine and complex procedures in the interventional lab.
