About the company: Tokyo-based Olympus Group makes precision machines and instruments. Its medical devices primarily serve gastroenterology, general surgery, pulmonology, bronchoscopy, urology, gynecology, otolaryngology, bariatrics, orthopedics and anesthesiology. Founded in 1919, the company developed the world’s first gastrocamera in 1950 and now offers endoscopes, endoscope reprocessors, laparoscopes, video imaging systems, system integration solutions and medical services through its Endoscopy unit. Its Therapeutic portfolio includes surgical energy devices and instruments to help prevent, detect and treat disease, such as devices for endotherapy, urology/gynecology, respiratory heath and ear/nose/throat applications.
