Murj recently emerged from stealth mode with $4.5 million in VC backing. The company is tackling workflow for clinicians to make sense of the increasing complexity of data generated by heart-monitoring devices, both remotely and in the office. It hopes to replace inefficient and disparate data management tools from pacemakers, loop recorders, and defibrillators. The SaaS platform offers cloud-based applications that consolidate data and promote quick retrieval from secure web browsers. Founder Todd Butka worked at Guidant and Medtronic and was a former product manager at Apple. His background gave him insight into the challenges and lag time clinicians faced using data management tools from multiple devices and paper-based reports.
