Xealth offers cloud-based technologies for physicians and clinicians to prescribe customized digital health content, including exercise programs, educational videos, apps and services. The company’s founders Mike McSherry and Aaron Sheedy were both former Swype executives. The product integrates with EMR records and allows caregivers to monitor engagement and analyze outcomes. Xealth raised $8.5 million in funding, just months after it spun out of Providence Health & Services. The company was incubated at Providence and UPMC, both of which offer Epic software. Xealth’s story indicates a willingness from providers to invest in digital programs that properly integrate with their systems. Xealth also offers Epic Systems materials, although the founders have stated they will expand partnerships. Right now, it offers 1,700 documents and videos and 8,000 programs and services to patients.
