Communicate clearly and often

The frenzy that took hold during the pandemic’s early days unleashed a cascade of information, not all of it true or helpful.
Stryker management established “incident response teams” to answer employee questions. Each week, managers talked about personal protective equipment (PPE), changes in geographic regions and when the company’s offices would offices open or close. Initially, the calls were weekly, then biweekly. Now, they occur monthly.
“You just cannot overcommunicate when you’re in a situation that’s very foreign and not normal,” Lobo said. “Employees want to see their leaders and hear from their leaders.”
