The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) announced today (Aug. 12) an agreement to acquire Pfiedler Enterprises, a provider of continuing medical and nursing education. This planned acquisition, with an expected Sept. 30 closing, represents AORN’s commitment to providing evidence-based health care education resources that are easily accessible to nurses and other perioperative professionals.
Pfiedler Enterprises was founded as Education Design in 1981 to meet the learning needs of surgeons and perioperative nurses. The organization has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) to physicians since 2002.
“Our two organizations have enjoyed many successful collaborations over the years as we created and delivered education resources to advance evidence-based practice,” said AORN’s Executive Director/CEO Linda Groah, MSN, RN, CNOR, NEA-BC FAAN. “This acquisition will position us to create more content and become even more efficient in the delivery of education resources to support safe patient care.”
