Intuitive Surgical (NSDQ:ISRG) robots won two of the three gold awards in the medical and health category at this year’s IDSA International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA).

The strong showing of robotic systems at the Industrial Designers Society of America’s IDEA ceremony, held last night in Chicago, are but another sign that robot-assisted surgery is a hot area in the medtech space. Intuitive Surgical remains the dominant surgical robotics company, but a host of other companies are jumping in.
