DALLAS, Feb. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Vitality, Inc. and
AT&T* have been honored with a prestigious 2011 Global Mobile
Award for
AT&T connected Vitality GlowCaps. The Global Mobile Awards
recognize excellence and innovation in mobile products, services
and initiatives across the global mobile eco-system.
The Global Mobile Award winners were announced yesterday in a
special ceremony during the GSMA Mobile World Congress in
Barcelona. AT&T connected Vitality GlowCaps won in the Best
Embedded Mobile Product/Device (Non Handsets) category.
“We’re extremely proud to receive this award from the global
mobile industry that recognizes the innovation and integration
we’re bringing to customers,” said Glenn Lurie, president, emerging
devices, AT&T. “AT&T connected Vitality GlowCaps are all
about delivering a simple, easy to use, solution to consumers
looking to maintain a prescription routine.”
Vitality’s AT&T-connected GlowCaps fit on standard
prescription bottles and use light then sound reminders, which can
be followed by a phone call or text message so people don’t miss a
dose. Each time the pill bottle is opened, adherence data is
recorded and relayed to Vitality over the AT&T wireless
network. This daily adherence information is used to compile
periodic progress reports that are sent to patients, caregivers and
doctors, and family members.
“We are honored to have Vitality GlowCaps recognized by the
Global Mobile Awards,” said Vitality CEO David Rose. “As we
continue to expand our mHealth reach through a product line
expansion, this recognition confirms our commitment to developing
products that promote healthy consumer behavior.”
Earlier this month it was announced that Vitality, Inc. had been
