4. Doctolib: $557.1 million (HealthTech sector)
Doctolib became France’s most highly valued startup with its debt and equity fundraise, which valued the company at $6.4 billion.
Doctolib is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) developer for doctors and healthcare workers to connect with patients, including appointment booking, billing, telehealth visits, document centralization and instant messaging.
Headquartered near Paris, Doctolib was founded in 2013 by CEO Stanislas Niox-Chateau and Director of Sales Steve Abou Rjeily. Last year, the company acquired data encryption firm Tanker to meet the healthcare industry’s high privacy standards. This year, Doctolib said it achieved ISO 27701 certification for data privacy.
The company says it serves more than 340,000 healthcare professionals and 70 million patients in France, Germany and Italy.
