VALENCIA, Calif., Aug. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Bioness Inc.,
today announced the commercial release of its NESS L300® Plus
System. Cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
earlier this year, the L300 Plus combines the award winning NESS
L300® Foot Drop System with a thigh cuff to activate even more
of the nerves and muscles in the leg for greater control while
walking.
The L300 Plus is intended for people living with neurological
conditions resulting from stroke, multiple sclerosis, traumatic
brain injury and spinal cord injury. The L300 Plus also helps to
facilitate muscle re-education, prevent muscle atrophy, increase
range of motion and increase local blood flow.
Sheltering Arms Physical Rehabilitation Centers located in
Richmond, Va. is the first rehabilitation center in the country to
offer the L300 Plus. According to James E. Sok, President and CEO,
“The L300 Plus is a welcomed addition to our iWalk program
which empowers our patients by offering a wide-range of
technology-based therapy solutions. We are excited to offer leading
rehab technologies in combination with our highly trained
therapists to help restore function in our patients as they
reintegrate back into the community.”
“For individuals living with central nervous system disorders,
lack of mobility can be a challenging and life-altering issue,”
said Todd Cushman, Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Business
Development and Marketing for Bioness. “With the L300 Plus, we aim
to provide the more than 150,000 physical therapists and 3,200
neurorehabilitation clinics in the United States another option for
helping neurological patients with gait disorders.”
The L300 Plus is now commercially available to
neurorehabilitation hospitals and centers around the country, and
to consumers for home use.
