Technologies will host its half-day Global Sample Management
Benchmarking Symposium in conjunction with its new facility opening
in Indianapolis on May 26, 2011, from 1:30 p.m. EDT to 4:30 p.m.
(5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. GMT). The symposium will provide
insight into some of the most critically important facets of sample
management, including: new trends in outsourcing, growth in unique
insourcing methods, advancements in the biopreservation of samples,
new methods and processes for the management of biomarkers and
genomic testing in clinical studies.
Recent advances in molecular technology and genomic discoveries,
coupled with the growth in clinical research, have increased the
need for properly preserved biospecimens. As this need continues to
grow, it has become imperative to spearhead discussions on
innovative techniques and best practices for the storage and
preservation of samples to ensure that current and future discovery
is not jeopardized.
“Samples are often the foundation of today’s novel drug
discovery and can be an accelerator of tomorrow’s medical
breakthroughs,” said Gregory Swanberg, Chief Executive Officer,
BioStorage Technologies. “BioStorage Technologies is committed to
not only being the leader in comprehensive sample management, but
