Bridgeport Magnetics is touting its ISO-Puck series of medical-grade transformers that are now available inside polycarbonate enclosures from 200VA to 3,000VA.
The ISO-Puck transformers are epoxy potted inside polycarbonate enclosures and help avoid interruption of power during surgeries in wet locations. The transformers also help medical device manufacturers speed up the certification of their product, according to the company.
Bridgeport Magnetics’s ISO-Puck transformers come in 60Hz or 50/60Hz frequency operation and are available with NEMA5 plugs for 15A or 20A applications. There are plugs available for other markets as well with a variety of receptacles that include IEC connectors and hospital-grade power strips. The standard cord length of the transformers is 2 ft with longer lengths available.
ISO-Puck can be mounted on a wall or cart where leakage current from computers, printers or medical devices might exceed the maximum allowed value in operating rooms and patient care areas. The portable tower can be equipped with a medical-grade four or six-outlet power strip and a 20 ft cord with a NEMA plug to transport the tower inside a room.
All of Bridgeport Magnetics’s ISO-Puck transformers are certified to the third edition of the medical safety standard IEC60601.1 and ANSI(UL), CSA and EN standards.
