Equadex: Mobile app for autism patients
Equadex is showcasing its Helpicto mobile application that is designed for people who have autism.Helpicto translates everyday language into pictures. It is an easy-to-use application where artificial intelligence recognizes image and speech to translate them into pictograms.
The company partnered with the Canadian pictogram system IDEOpicto. Users are able to create their own personal profile on the Helpicto app where they can access 3,000 pictograms. They are also able to fully personalize their account by taking photos of everyday objects and family members.
Helpicto is able to register and remember everyday routines like getting dressed and going to bed. During the sequence, the first pictogram corresponds to the first stage of the sequence, which can be read out loud through speech synthesis. The pictogram will not change until the first step is completed.
