Chiropractor Creates Exercise Machine that Protects the Spine

August 10, 2016 By Tighten The Core, Inc.

Tighten the Core, Inc. is the newly formed company behind The Core Activator, the first exercise machine to integrate core muscle activation in every plane of motion while taking compression loads off the spine.

The Core Activator keeps the spine in a biomechanically safer and more efficient spine neutral position. The 45 degree angle of the machine takes significant compression loads off the spine and forces the deeper stabilizing muscles of the core to engage in all three planes of motion: flexion, extension and lateral flexion. The result is a more efficient workout that activates the entire core muscle belt while bathing the spine and low back in key nutrients.

With repeated use, the Core Activator retrains neural pathways for more effective exercise. When the brain creates new neural pathways, it allows us to quickly respond to a given event in the same manner each time that event occurs, saving us from having to think about the action. The Core Activator repetitively fires core muscles during training, creating new neural pathways that cause users to activate their core muscles without even thinking about it, much like a reflex. This increases strength and endurance, and help prevent future injuries.

The Core Activator was created by Dr. Jeff Fishel, a chiropractor of 26 years who suffered a broken back in a severe car accident while in college. Since then, spinal health has been a passion. When Jeff discovered that current core training exercise equipment was at odds with current medical research, he created the Core Activator.

On August 8, Tighten the Core, Inc. launched an Indiegogo campaign to make the Core Activator available to the public, the first time a machine that allows front flexion, back extension and lateral flexion all on the same machine will be available for purchase.
