LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., November 22, 2011 – Canon U.S.A., Inc.,
a leader in digital imaging, today announced that the Canon CXDI-80C Wireless
Digital Radiography (DR) Detector, along with the CXDI-501 Series DR Detectors,
have received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
“Obtaining FDA clearance of both the CXDI-80C Wireless DR
Detector and the CXDI-501 DR Series Detectors reaffirms our commitment to
healthcare professionals to offer detectors that result in low-dose radiation
exposure to patients while improving image quality and in turn, helping to
contribute to the quality care of their patients.” said Tsuneo Imai, senior
director and general manager, Medical Systems Division, Canon U.S.A.
The Canon CXDI-80C Wireless Digital Radiography (DR)
Detector
As the first Canon compact wireless DR detector, the CXDI-80C Wireless DR Detector builds on
the success of the renowned Canon
CXDI-70C Wireless DR Detector, while achieving
reductions in size and weight. The CXDI-80C
Wireless DR Detector features a lightweight body
design with an imaging area of approximately 11 x 14-inches in size, compatible
with standard size Bucky trays, enabling radiology room upgrades from analog to
cutting-edge digital imaging. Providing high-quality images with low X-ray
exposure to the patient, the CXDI-80C
Wireless DR Detector weighs 5.1 pounds and
incorporates a 6.1-megapixel image sensor with a pixel pitch of 125 microns and
a Cesium Iodide (CsI) scintillator. The CXDI-80C Wireless DR Detector also
produces up to approximately 140 images on a fully charged battery, allowing
for long-time operation on a single charge. Providing excellent portability,
the CXDI-80C Wireless DR
Detector can also fit into an incubator tray or isolette, which is ideal for
orthopedics practice or Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU).
The Canon CXDI-501 Digital Radiography Series Detectors
Helping medical professionals deliver efficient diagnoses and quality patient
care, the CXDI-501 Series Detectors provide impressive image quality and
portability for great operation in the office or in the field. With a
detachable cable and cassette compatibility, the Canon CXDI-501C and CXDI-501G DR
Detectors are exceptionally versatile, satisfying both portability and easy
installation for most existing Bucky trays. The CXDI-501C and CXDI-501G DR
Detectors feature an approximately 14 x 17-inch imaging area, and each weighs
approximately 6.8 pounds. Boasting exceptional light-conversion efficiency, the
CXDI-501C and CXDI-501G DR Detectors also incorporate a high-quality,
approximately 9.5 million megapixel image sensor with a pixel pitch of 125
microns and offer a Cesium Iodide (CsI) or Gadolinium Oxysulfide (GSO)
scintillator, respectively. The CXDI-501 DR Series Detectors also provide fast
exam output allowing medical practitioners to preview an image approximately
three seconds after exposure.
The Canon CXDI-80C Wireless Digital Radiography Detector and
CXDI-501 Digital Radiography Series Detectors join the complete Canon line of
digital imaging devices and workflow management solutions. The CXDI-80C
Wireless Digital Radiography Detector and CXDI-501 Digital Radiography Series
Detectors are available for purchase through authorized Canon dealers.
