Concept Metals Group acquires Freedom Manufacturing

Concept Metals Group (Spring Lake, Mich.) announced today that it has acquired advanced precision machining outfit Freedom Manufacturing (Comstock Park, Mich.).

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Started in 1985 as a one-person machining operation, Freedom Manufacturing and its 46 employees focus on serving customers in the medical and medical devices, material handling and office furniture industrie. Company founder Robert Baker will stay with the company as president to assist the new leadership team with the transition.

“We are very pleased to welcome Bob and the team at Freedom Manufacturing to the CMG team. Working together, we will deliver a better value proposition for our customers by offering complementary products and services that allow us to be a single-source supplier,” CMG CEO John Walton said in a news release.

Rick Williams, who has 30 years of manufacturing experience, will run Freedom’s day-to-day operations as general manager.
