Able Human Motion

Able Human Motion (Barcelona, Spain) is boasting an affordable and lightweight exoskeleton that restores the ability for spinal injury patients to walk in a natural and intuitive way. The exoskeleton — the result of research at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya — has a patented system that detects the user’s intention to step forward; an inertial measurement unit and algorithm decide when to flex or extend the knee.

Able also won a 6,000-euro first prize at the CRAASH Barcelona event at DeviceTalks Boston.
