NeurescenceNeurescence (Toronto) hopes to enable breakthroughs in the treatment of central nervous system diseases through its optical fluorescent microscope. The microscope includes multiple probes implanted in the brain and spinal cord. The system, according to its creators, is able to follow the activities of hundreds of neurons in each region of the brain for several months while the user freely moves around. Advanced machine learning and quantum machine learning techniques enable evaluation of drug candidates, as well as presurgical assessment for neurosurgeons.
Neurescence is still in the preclinical stage of development and is presently in the process of setting up a presence in Boston.
