The system is ideal for fiber coating or marking applications. It is air-cooled and delivers up to 20W/cm2 of irradiance at a 10-15mm working distance. The new Excelitas Technologies system also features a custom optical design for delivering UV onto the fiber, which allows for efficient curing and faster line speeds with reduced electrical power consumption.
It also has the same mechanical enclosure as the OmniCure AC8225-F+, but with higher output for faster process speeds. Using existing mechanical enclosures allows customers to update performance without having complex integration changes, according to Excelitas Technologies.
“The fiber curing industry is fast paced and is rapidly changing to meet the high output demands of the market. We are excited to offer the new AC9225-F UV LED Curing System as a solution that can help manufacturers achieve faster throughput with operational benefits such as lower power consumption and reduced down time. The AC9225-F’s high output and air-cooled form factor make it easy for customers to integrate and scale to their production processes,” Mike Kay, director of product management at Excelitas Technologies, said.
The AC9225-F also features an optional replaceable window that protects from contamination while allowing for multiple systems to be connected without sacrificing uniformity between curing systems.
Excelitas Technologies will showcase the new curing system at IWCS from Oct. 15-16 in Providence, R.I.
