Emerson: New plastic welding technology
Emerson (Danbury, Conn.) used MD&M Minneapolis to tout its new Branson GSX ultrasonic plastic welding system, which the company says can help medical device companies overcome manufacturing challenges related to joining miniaturized parts with embedded electronics that require super-precise actuation force.“The new Branson GSX System leverages major advances in actuation and control to help medical manufacturers achieve a process that’s superior in consistency and repeatability,” Tarick Walton, Emerson’s global product manager for ultrasonics, said in a news release.
“Its advanced user interface offers selectable, tunable actuation force controls, ergonomically designed to enable set up and optimization of the GSX system in minutes, not hours or days,” Walton said.
As with other Branson medtech-related systems, the GSX provides complete data output tracking, which enables better manufacturing efficiency, product traceability and regulatory compliance.
