A non-invasive and painless Glucometer device is in development, and can carry out quick and highly accurate measurements of glucose in saliva.
The technology is said to provide results with repeatable accuracy of 99.5 percent. Currently, the creators have designed a working prototype, and hope to further their testing and expand the device’s results.
The device uses saliva to detect amounts of glucose in the body, and uses technological advances in Nano and light technology. It works by utilizing photonic measurements for biomarker count in the users’ saliva.
This device could constitute as an alternative to conventional finger-prick glucometers.
