The 53,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is in the Evolution Free Zone business park in Grecia, Alajuela. Forj Medical has not yet announced an opening date, but a spokesperson said the facility will start operations sometime in 2026.
It’s the latest medtech supply chain announcement from Costa Rica, where CDMOs and OEMs alike have set up shop for lower costs compared to domestic manufacturing.
Forj Medical said the facility will be the first in the Central American county dedicated to custom electromagnetic sensors, biosensor devices, and microelectronic medical devices.
Production services will include coil winding and cable assembly, with state-of-the-art manufacturing lines for automated and manual assemblies of components and finished medical devices. The facility also has clean room space for manufacturing devices for surgical navigation, electrophysiology, diabetes, drug delivery, cardiovascular and advanced optics applications, among others.

“Costa Rica is a key pillar in our global network,” Forj Medical CEO Jeremy Maniak said in a news release. “By combining deep expertise in system and component design with advanced automation and assembly, we help our original equipment manufacturing (OEM) customers solve complex challenges, scale production with confidence, and bring innovative technologies to patients faster.”
Forj Medical is still seeking a site director and other leaders, with plans to start recruiting skilled local employees in the first quarter of 2026.
