Freudenberg Medical recently announced plans to start construction of its new medical manufacturing facility in Beverly, Mass. The company also plans to establish its global headquarters at the new location.
The company will invest more than $3 million to build its 36,000 sq. ft facility with the opportunity to expand another 20,0000 sq. ft. Freudenberg Medical’s new building will be FDA-registered and ISO 13485-certified with ISO Class 8 cleanrooms. The facility is expected to be operational in the second half of 2019 and will employ approximately 70 people.
“The Boston area is one of the leading medical device and biotech clusters in the world with a high concentration of universities and research centers,” Max Kley, president and CEO of Freudenberg Medical, said. “Our decision to expand here is a testament to the strong growth of Freudenberg medical in this region and locating our global headquarters in Beverly demonstrates the global role and international orientation of the Boston med device cluster.”
Freudenberg Medical designs and manufactures minimally invasive surgical and catheter-based devices, and creates molded and extruded components – among its many capabilities.
