The new purple Navigator 2.0 gamma probe system from Dilon Technologies Inc. is a completely wireless device with sterilizable probes for sentinel lymph node biopsy use.
The extended life of the wireless system is provided by an advanced lithium ion battery featuring over 10 hours of continuous use in the operating room. Each system has two batteries that can be simultaneously charged in the charging station. The lack of a power cord reduces the hazard of wires in the operating room.
Navigator is user friendly with an instant “on” power button. The probe has internal collimation for accurate detection of lymph nodes without delay of signal. The system does not require a setup procedure including a calibration protocol, or an external collimation which would hinder its performance.
The wireless probe is powered by Zigbee, an industrial grade platform that minimizes interference with other medical equipment that utilize Bluetooth technology.
Navigator gamma probes are widely used in the marketplace for cancer surgery. The probes offer an upgrade option for 3D tumor imaging and navigation with a SurgicEye’s declipseSPECT camera. Dilon also is the exclusive international distributor of Digirad’s Cardius cardiac and ergoT general molecular imaging cameras.
