Getinge said it has launched a new steam sterilizer with a chamber that comes in four different depths to easily accommodate large loads.
The Gothenburg, Sweden-based company said it worked with central sterile supply department staff to engineer the new GSS610H sterilizer, which has the same features as its GSS67H model. GSS610H integrates with existing sterilization departments, the company added.
“Our sterilizers deliver consistent and reliable results while maintaining a low and predictable total cost of ownership,” said Karolina Olofsson, product manager of steam sterilization at Getinge, in a news release. “This newcomer, GSS610H, is designed to enhance the entire workflow without compromising. By involving end users we created Centric, an intuitive and efficient user interface that requires less training, and can be easily operated by staff at all experience levels.”
The new sterilizer offers a choice of automatic and manual loading systems. It has an automated start-up and shut-down feature as well as quick processing times and a control function for the temperature of the drain water to minimize cooling water consumption. Polished stainless steel surfaces with rounded corners, a flushed chamber door and few seams make the sterilizer hygienic and easy to clean, according to the company. Getinge also created new “smart trolleys” to help operators move heavy loads in an ergonomic way.
“Clean steam processes improve the life of instruments, and our clean steam adapted system with premium stainless steel components as standard, reduces the long-term financial impact of premature instrument replacement,” Olofsson said.
