Surgery goes sci-fi as IU Health trauma surgeon and Google Glass Explorer Dr. Paul Szotek takes this technology into surgery. Dr. Szotek and his team were the first in Indiana to use Google Glass as a visual aid in surgery and continue to find ways to advance care using the technology. The device’s voice command capabilities enable surgeons to summon the patient’s MRI scans and x-rays into their field of view—all without having to take their eyes off the patient.
