interests of the worldwide mobile communications industry, has
launched its prestigious 16th Annual Global Mobile Awards
programme. New categories have been added to recognise excellence,
achievement and innovation in the broad and constantly evolving
mobile ecosystem. Specifically, the GSMA will shine a spotlight on
innovation in the mobile health – ‘mHealth’ – space for
the first time.
“Health is an area that is seeing great growth in adoption of
new devices embedded with mobile technology, allowing innovative
applications such as remote monitoring,” said Ana Tavares

Eligible entrants to this new category include mHealth equipment
manufacturers, mHealth solution providers, mobile network
operators, and chipset and module manufacturers.

Shortlists will be announced in January 2011 and the awards will be
presented at the GSMA’s Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona in
