The Freudenberg Group strengthens its commitment to the medical device and pharmaceutical industries by introducing “Freudenberg Medical” as its new umbrella brand. Helix Medical and MedVenture Technology are now called Freudenberg Medical. The new brand emphasizes the business group’s role as a global development and innovation partner to the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
Freudenberg Medical directs the activities of the Freudenberg Group into the fields of medical and pharmaceutical applications. Freudenberg Medical develops and manufactures specialty components and minimally invasive device solutions for medical device OEMs worldwide. Under the HelixMark and PharmaFocus premium brands, Freudenberg Medical offers silicone tubing and related products to the pharmaceutical industry.
MedVenture Technology specialized in the development and manufacture of minimally invasive systems and catheters; therefore, Freudenberg Medical also develops and markets proprietary ear, nose and throat applications and catheters under the InHealth Technologies brand.
As part of the Freudenberg Group and with over 40,000 associates around the globe, Freudenberg Medical has access to a unique network of research and development facilities and can support customers from material and design optimization to mass production of complete medical devices.
”Since we selected Helix Medical as our company name our enterprise has grown exponentially, both organically and through acquisitions, and we have significantly broadened our capabilities,” said Jorg Schneewind, president and CEO of Freudenberg Medical. “Our new brand, Freudenberg Medical, underlines our commitment to be the preferred global development and innovation partner for medical device and pharmaceutical customers.”
Freudenberg Medical also holds a 50% share of two joint venture companies: VistaMed, a manufacturer of catheters and catheter components, and Cambus Medical, a manufacturer of metal hypotubes for catheter systems. Currently, Freudenberg Medical has ten production sites located in the United States, Costa Rica, Germany, Ireland and China, all equipped with certified cleanrooms and registered by the FDA.
