You can tune in each week starting Monday, January 24th at 4 to
5 p.m. on
KFNX-AM 1100 as the College of Nursing & Health Innovation
launches Hot Health Topics, its first radio program.
Dean
Bernadette Melnyk, a pediatric and psychiatric nurse
practitioner, is host for the program, which will provide the best
and latest evidence on how to live healthier lives, as well as
cover the best and latest treatments for a variety of health
conditions. A different health expert will join the dean each of
the 13 weeks of the one-hour program.
Topics will range from What Parents Should Know about Depression
in Children to Food as Medicine and Preventing and Managing
Obesity.
Experts joining the ASU dean include healthcare and health
promotion professionals in psychiatry, care for caregivers, womens
health, and the warning signs of heart disease.
Hot Health Topics is part of the colleges Healthy Arizona
NOW initiative. The goal of the Healthy AZ NOW program is to
improve physical and mental health outcomes across the lifespan for
the people of Arizona through evidenced-based healthcare and health
promotion, services, community engagement, and first-class
educational programs.
