Huntington, West Virginia, VA Medical Center Chooses CADD®-Solis Ambulatory Infusion System

August 6, 2013 By Business Wire

Smiths Medical, a leading global medical device manufacturer, announced today that the Department of Veterans Affairs awarded the company a contract to purchase its CADD ® -Solis ambulatory infusion system for the Huntington, West Virginia, VA Medical Center.

“Serving Veterans with the highest quality medical equipment is an honor and a privilege for Smiths Medical,” said Srini Seshadri, President, Smiths Medical. “Our CADD ® -Solis system brings our expertise and innovation in smart infusion technology to the ambulatory setting, and we are pleased to see the CADD ® -Solis infusion pump chosen for use at the Huntington VAMC.” The CADD ® -Solis ambulatory infusion system is a clinically and technologically advanced portable pain management system that administers pain relief medications, including narcotics, to post-surgery, trauma, cancer and labor & delivery patients.

The CADD ® -Solis infusion pump’s compact, lightweight design promotes patient mobility which helps improve clinical outcomes, reduce patients’ length-of-stay, and reduce overall treatment costs. The system is powered by innovative CADD ® -Solis medication safety software for the PC which allows hospitals to input their own standardized pain management protocols for their patients, helping clinicians deliver the correct dosages of medication and promote patient safety. Clinicians may only select the standard protocol information that has been predetermined by the hospital pain management team, helping reduce the risk of pump programming errors.

The CADD ® -Solis system meets industry recognized standards for advanced error reduction features in pain pumps. It is backed by Smiths Medical’s reputation as a leading provider of medication delivery and patient safety products worldwide, with more than 300,000 infusion pumps in use in hospitals and alternate sites of care worldwide.
