The new liners allow for easy sliding and can reduce wear in metal parts. The tribologically-optimized liners can be used as edge and product protection in packaging and conveyor systems and are available in new sizes with advanced adhesive backing.
Tribe-Tape liners are typically used for smooth, silent, simple and are lubrication-free. The adhesives are now also FDA-compliant.
Igus currently manufactures four liners. Igus’s A160 liner is made from FDA-compliant materials and meets the hygiene and safety requirements. It can be used in temperatures up to 194ºF.
The company’s Tribo-tape is made with iglide material B160 and adds wear resistance. It can be used in temperatures ranging from -40ºF to 194ºF.
W160 is applicable for hygiene-sensitive industries because of its antibacterial properties. It is used in machines for dental hardening or sterilization. It also has UV-stabilizing additives, making sure the material properties do not change in light-induced oxidation.
The fourth tribo-tape is made from the iglide V400 material. It is heat-resistance and is able to be used at temperatures ranging from -40ºF to 320ºF and is suitable for use at high loads and temperatures.
The versatile liners are able to be applied universally and can be easily cut. They come in the standard widths of 20, 50, 100 and 500 meters with a thickness of 0.5 and 1 mm. All of the tribo-tapes have optional adhesive backings. Igus also offers special geometries and special width cuttings.
