Companies are announcing a range of innovations in digital health, cybersecurity, AI and more at HIMSS 2022.
The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Global Health Conference and Exhibition runs March 14–18, 2022, in Orlando, Florida. It’s an annual health information and technology event where professionals can connect to learn more about innovations in the industry.
Here are some of the healthcare IT innovation announcements made at HIMSS22:
1. Philips expands medical device cybersecurity portfolio
Philips is expanding its medical device cybersecurity services to include remote access management. The new Remote Access Management Service increases uptime, clinical performance and advanced security to protect access to healthcare providers’ clinical solutions and medical devices. It combines SecureLink’s critical access management and governance technology with Philips Remove Services’ secure connectivity framework to provide technical and clinical support. Read more here. >>
2. Philips introduces new cloud-enabled enterprise imaging informatics and analytics products
Philips unveiled its Philips HealthSuite Interoperability and Philips Enterprise Performance Analytics Performance Bridge. The HealthSuite Interoperability is “a fully integrated cloud-enabled Health IT platform to meet diverse workflow needs across the imaging enterprise.” Performance Bridge provides operational insights and analytics to the cardiology department at the point of care. 3. GE Healthcare to roll out AI-powered Edison Digital Health Platform
GE Healthcare announced that its Edison Digital Health Platform is a vendor-agnostic hosting and data aggregation platform with an integrated AI engine. The company said that the platform could enable health providers to effectively deploy clinical, workflow, analytics and AI tools and accelerate app integration by connecting devices and other data sources into an aggregated clinical data layer. 4. Fujifilm showcases Synapse Enterprise Imaging portfolio
Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corp. used HIMSS to highlight the latest products in its Synapse Enterprise Imaging portfolio. The next-gen Synapse 7x, for example, unifies the products within the company’s Synapse portfolio — including Radiology PACS, Cardiology PACS, 3D Advanced Visualization, VNA and Fujifilm’s AI-enabled platform REiLI — on one common viewing platform. At the core of the portfolio is the Synapse VNA, which coordinates multiple patient IDs, populates a centralized Master Patient Index, and simplifies the sharing of all enterprise imaging content. Synapse Enterprise Information System (EIS), according to a Fujifilm news release, is a comprehensive workflow management solution designed with Fujifilm’s Synapse.
