ISL touts customizable silicone rubber glow-in-the-dark keypads

ISL Products International (Syosset, N.Y.) has launched its new customizable silicone rubber keypads that feature glow-in-the-dark compounds.

The keypads are ideas in medical applications such as defibrillators, patient monitors, glucose meters, infusion pumps and disposable surgical and dental equipment. They feature a quick charge time from any light source and the glow-in-the-dark silicone keypads require no electricity. Water- or solvent-based phosphor powder is used to customize the luminescence of the keypads, as well as glow time and color palette. Users can choose from a number of colors of varying shades of orange, yellow, red, green, purple, white and blue.

ISL’s customizable silicone keypads are also non-toxic, eco-friendly, UV stable and heat resistant. They come in tactile or non-tactile designs in any size or shape with screen printed, painted or laser-etched markings. The keypads also feature conductive carbon pills to ensure precise contact with PCB substrate. A polyurethane abrasion-resistant spray coating and a silicone spray overcoat are also applied to the keypads for double abrasion resistance of printed graphics.

The keypads are EN 71-3, RoHS and REACH standards compliant. They are also suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
