October 27, 2020 By Danielle Kirsh

6. Siemens Healthineers

Number of employees: 52,000
Glassdoor rating: 4/5
80% would recommend to a friend.

Siemens Healthineers (ETR:SHL) touts itself as developing innovations that supply better patient outcomes. It says its employees seek new paths and put their hearts into healthcare.

Here’s what current and former employees have to say:

“Pros: Always on top of new technology development; constant opportunities in the development of an engineer and employee; fair and honest working environment; great leadership. Cons: The large company size makes for some day-to-day struggles that can be overcome with time and experience.” —Current employee

“Pros: Friendly people; opportunities to jump to different divisions and move up the ladder. Cons: No work/life balance; too many levels of approval to move up.” —Current employee

“Pros: Good compensation and a generous amount of PTO; for the engaged and self-motivated individual there are opportunities to pursue your own projects. Cons: Poor rewarding of operating above your job function; few opportunities for advancement and growth in role.” —Current employee

“Pros: Supportive team culture encourages quality throughout the company. Cons: Cooperative sites’ geographical distance offers a challenge.” —Former employee

“Pros: Your wages are good for the industry; the peers you work with are nice; the facilities were new and modern inside. Cons: Limited to no development programs; pedigree is preferred over soft skills and desire to grow; leadership does not embrace new ideas.” —Former employee

“Pros: Good work-life balance; smart leaders; strong educational opportunities. Cons: Limited career growth; new opportunities are rare.”—Former employee
