Dr. Michel Yaremchuk partners with Matrix Surgical USA to license and distribute new craniofacial implant system under OMNIPORE brand
Boston’s leading cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Michael Yaremchuk, has announced a partnership with Matrix Surgical USA to manufacture and distribute his new line of patented facial implants. The craniofacial implant system will be marketed under the OMNIPORE brand and will enable patients around the world to achieve greater facial balance.
“The academic definition of beauty is based on facial balance, which begins with the craniofacial skeleton,” said Dr. Yaremchuk. “When an individual’s eyes, nose, cheekbones, jawline and mouth are all in balance, they are objectively more beautiful—but modifications to these features cannot be achieved with noninvasive procedures.”
With decades of experience in private practice and in the world’s leading hospitals, Dr. Yaremchuk has performed thousands of implant procedures including malar (cheek), infraorbital rim, chin and jaw implants. Since the facial skeleton is the primary determinant of facial appearance, its selective augmentation with implants can have powerful, long-lasting effects.
The OMNIPORE facial implants are made from high-density polyethylene. Polyethylene is a biomaterial unique in its low reactivity and tissue biocompatibility. It is porous and allows tissue ingrowth which limits scar tissue forming around the implant. Dr. Yaremchuk has designed certain features into the implants which make symmetric placement more likely, as well as the implant conforming better to the skeleton making their presence imperceptible.
“We believe the science and the aesthetic behind Dr. Yaremchuk’s approach will be enormously appealing to patients all over the world,” said John O’Shaughnessy, Founder, President and CEO of Matrix Surgical USA. “Between our international distribution network and Dr. Yaremchuk’s reputation, we expect to see high demand and tremendous opportunities for growth.”
The implants, designed for craniofacial reconstruction and augmentation procedures, have gone through extensive testing to ensure compliance with international safety standards, including FDA clearance and the CE Mark approval.
