INDIANAPOLIS, May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Lilly USA has
launched www.LillyTruAssist.com
and 1-855-LLYTRUE (1-855-559-8783), a website and call center for
health care providers and patients to access information about
Lilly’s patient assistance programs, which help connect patients
with the Lilly medications they need.
TruAssist provides one “umbrella” for all these programs,
creating for the first time a single point of contact for all Lilly
patient assistance programs.
“In 2010, Lilly helped approximately 227,000 people in the
United States obtain the Lilly medications they need,” said Jack
Harris, M.D., vice president of Lilly’s U.S. medical division.
“With TruAssist, our goal is to further our commitment to improving
patients’ lives by increasing awareness of these programs and
giving health care providers and patients one easy-to-use resource
for accessing them.”
The TruAssist website and call center will provide detailed
program eligibility information for the Lilly Cares and
LillyMedicareAnswers programs, as well as programs that assist
eligible patients in obtaining Lilly specialty products. A program
finder tool on the TruAssist website will direct patients to the
program appropriate for them.
In 2010, Lilly’s patient assistance programs donated more than
$336 million in product value to assist more than 227,000 patients.
The largest programs are Lilly Cares, a program of the Lilly Cares
Foundation, Inc., and LillyMedicareAnswers.
Lilly Cares assists uninsured eligible patients with more than
20 Lilly medications related to the therapeutic areas of diabetes,
cardiovascular diseases, mental health and men’s and women’s
health. Lilly assists eligible Medicare patients through the
LillyMedicareAnswers patient assistance program, designed for
participants in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.
