To prevent air ingestion and colic in babies, designers at Savi Baby selected the Model #120 check valve from Smart Products for a hands-free baby bottle, the Pacifeeder. The convenient (for parents) bottle feeding option features a system that adjusts fluid flow based on the baby’s needs and prevents the nipple from leaking.
The adapter of the Pacifeeder uses a Model #120 check valve, which fits into the nipple. The valve prevents the backflow of liquids thereby keeping the nipple full. Maintaining liquids in the nipple (until the bottle is empty) lets babies get to the liquid and not ingest air. Avoiding air ingestion prevents colic and digestive problems.

The check valve fits in the white adaptor at the end of the feeding tube. The nipple fits onto the adaptor.
What’s more, the BPA-free Pacifeeder, ideal for babies three months and older, promotes doctor recommended semi-upright feeding positions to help reduce ear infections. A rotating strap attaches the bottle to car seats, strollers, and carriers. And a FlexGuard feature prevents babies from disconnecting the system. The Pacifeeder also quickly converts into a regular baby bottle by using any standard nipple.

Like all Smart Products valves, Model #120 can be customized to fit design criteria with a range of plastic body and o-ring materials, and spring pressures. For instance,
