The free webinar brings together industry experts to discuss the opportunities and challenges of turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDI) technology, one of the passenger car industry’s most impactful and promising powertrain strategies.
The Lubrizol has partnered with SAE to host a new webinar, “TGDI Technology & Higher Performing Lubricants,” on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. EST. The free webinar brings together industry experts to discuss the opportunities and challenges of turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDI) technology, one of the passenger car industry’s most impactful and promising powertrain strategies.
Joining Lubrizol will be experts from the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI), Honeywell Transportation Systems and Southwest Research Institute. Discussions will revolve around growing global demand for TGDI engines, driven by increasing consumer expectations for vehicle performance and stringent regulatory mandates for higher fuel economy. Turbocharger adoption is set to increase-up to 47% of the global passenger car market by 2020, according to Honeywell, while EPA’s CAFE standards require 54.5 mile fleet-wide average fuel economy by 2025.
Discussion during the webinar will encompass:
- perspective on the future of powertrains and vehicle dependability;
- turbocharger innovations that have contributed to engine downsizing and fuel efficiency;
- TGDI technology from a combustion perspective and challenges such as low speed pre-ignition; and
- Lubrizol Additives will share how lubricant technology helps TGDI engines reach their full potential, enabling peak performance and directly contributing to fuel economy.
The webinar is part of Lubrizol’s ongoing commitment to help its customers succeed, by advocating that lubricants need to be an integral part of engine design. Together with new engine technology, higher performing lubricants can help reach the fuel economy and efficiency goals that lie ahead. Lubrizol is dedicated to helping its partners continue to succeed with innovative products.
