Maxon Motor at MD&M West touted its steam sterilizable ENX encoder — which the company is touting as a first. The encoder is available in an incremental (1024 counts) and absolute version (4096 steps), with both designed to withstand 1,000 autoclave cycles.

Also at the show, the company showed off its sensorless speed and torque control system, which it boasts is ideal for surgical systems, fluid delivery systems, rehabilitation and prosthetics, and more.
