Covestro (Leverkusen, Germany) is touting a new wellness wearable called Embr Wave at this year’s MD&M West.Covestro provided the materials to produce the Embr Wave, which is manufactured by Embr Labs. The Embr Wave is a bracelet that lets people change the way they feel temperature. It features scientifically developed waveforms the can precisely stimulate a person’s thermoreceptors and use the body’s natural systems to help the wearer feel warmer or cooler by 5 degree.
Covestro provided the frosted light pipe with LEDs that is used as the primary user interface. The company’s Makrolon 2407 polycarbonate was also used in the device. Makrolon 2407 is a UV-stabilized grade that offer better performance for electronics, IT and communications applications.
