Medtech software development company MedAcuity today announced a development partnership with Fathom Consulting, a Minneapolis-based human-centered design firm that specializes in user experience (UX) design.
UX and human factors engineering (HFE) emphasize enabling the safe and effective use of medical devices — an important focus for MedAcuity in developing client software, according to the Westford, Mass.-based company.
Fathom Consulting has more than 20 years of experience working with clients as they examine concepts, implement device design, test and train users, and prepare for FDA submission.
“Having already worked with Fathom on several successful projects, I am thrilled to formalize our partnership,” said Andy D’Amore, MedAcuity’s SVP of business development, in a news release. “Fathom brings to bear critical design practice capabilities and best-in-class processes.”
“We look forward to being able to best serve our shared clients through this partnership,” added Fathom managing partner Kate McRoberts. “Focusing on the interaction between users and devices during even the earliest stages of medical product development is essential. Together with MedAcuity, we’ll be able to ensure that everything from the software to the user interface is optimally designed to work cohesively for maximum efficacy and better user experience.”
