CHANTILLY, Va., Aug. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Medicomp
Systems announced the first-time distribution of ICD-10-CM mappings
and functionality with its new version of the powerful MEDCIN
Engine®.
The MEDCIN Engine is a proven knowledge engine that adapts to
the unique clinical presentation of each patient and provides
enterprises with all the codes needed for compliance and
reimbursement. The MEDCIN Engine currently includes over 400,000
maps to standard reference terminologies, needed for
interoperability, billing and reporting.
This new version of the MEDCIN Engine makes it easier to get
bi-directional mappings, codes, descriptions, and new UI especially
designed to make ICD-10-CM more usable in EMR systems. It
includes over 40,000 ICD-10 mappings, with the beta update
scheduled for February 2012, and the commercial release in August
2012.
“We’re very excited about releasing our first ICD-10 update to
our customers and interested in early feedback about our strategy.
We believe this new version of the MEDCIN Engine will go a long way
to making the move from ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM easier to absorb by
EMR vendors, physicians and their staff,” said Peter Goltra of
Medicomp Systems.
This updated version of the powerful MEDCIN Engine will enable
clinically-contextual, problem-oriented views of incoming data
using ICD-10-CM and standard reference terminologies such as
SNOMED, RxNorm and LOINC from multiple external sources, permitting
what Medicomp coined “usable interoperability.”
