A bronchoscope for single-use, bedside procedures featuring suction

Category: Engineering and Robotics
Subcategory: Medtech

From the winners: “This bronchoscope has evolved the standard of care within bronchoscopy. The working channel was designed to enhance suction capabilities over its reusable counterpart, while providing high-quality imaging through a tablet to provide a full system platform with ease of mobility. All of this while eliminating the risk of cross-contamination.”

“Over 1.2 million Americans annually will undergo a pulmonology procedure. Our platform combines a single-use catheter, with a tablet-based imaging system to enable these patients to be treated at the bedside without having to wait for a procedure room or a scope to return from reprocessing. Knowledge from the current scope platform was used to optimize the EXALT Model B Single-Use Bronchoscope for use by interventional pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, and thoracic surgeons.”

“The EXALT Model B Single-Use Bronchoscope has enhanced suction capability over its competitors due to the design of the working channel. This bronchoscope also provides higher quality imaging over its competitors, providing for a more efficient and seamless procedure for the physician.”
