“Ambulatory clinics, at-home care, self-administered diagnostics, and always-on remote monitoring are growing areas of interest. Seventy percent (70%) of startup companies in the diagnostics sector have a product applicable to the point-of-care,” the report said. “These trends have implications for reimbursement and clinical support.”
Deloitte analyzed MTI startups for the past three years and determined the share of point-of-care products has since grown from 62% in 2019 70% in 2021, while companies in the genomics/sequencing category decreased from 12% to 7%.
