Jennifer Fried, who became CEO of Flow Medical in 2023, shared this with Medical Design & Outsourcing in 2022 when she was general manager at Explorer Surgical:
“I have always guided our team to build the software solution that you would want in use if it was your loved one on the operating room table. This came full circle for me in spring of 2020 when my dad had emergency open-heart surgery during the beginning of COVID. I am forever grateful to Dr. John Ikonomidis and his team at UNC Chapel Hill for saving my dad’s life that night. In situations like this, every minute counts, and the experience has made me even more passionate about giving clinical teams the information, access and tools they need to swiftly and immediately work together to take care of patients.
